希腊民族英雄、国会议员、社会活动家。1922年生于希腊纳克索斯岛。1940年中学毕业后考入雅典高等经济贸易学校。德国法西斯占领雅典后，19岁的格列索斯和好友桑达斯，于1941年 5月31日夜爬上雅典卫城，撕下了悬挂的法西斯德国旗帜。他于1942、1943、1944年3次被德国人逮捕,判处死刑。1944年9月越狱。战后曾任希腊共产党中央机关报记者、编辑。希腊内战时，1948年10月及1949年2月两次入狱,被希腊政府判处死刑，但在国内外舆论的压力下，改判无期徒刑。他在希腊人民中享有很高威望。1951年和1952年在服刑的情况下，两次被选为国会议员，但政府取消了他的议员资格。1954年获释，1958年再次入狱。法庭以"协助间谍活动"罪判其5年徒刑和4年流放。1962年获释。他曾获国际记者奖金、国际和平奖金和列宁加强国际和平奖金。1981年10月再次当选为国会议员。1985年 1月原希腊民主左翼党主席伊利亚斯·伊里乌?ナ篮螅窳兴魉谷沃飨?
