In the E-C inter-translation of technical documents, the translator should make proper transformation between long sentences and short sentences, passive voice and active voice, impersonal subject sentences and personal subject sentences, deduction-type sentence and induction-type sentence to guarantee smoothness of technical version.

This thesis probes into the translator’s subjectivity in written E-C EST translation, classifying the EST, analyzes its characteristics and new trend, classifies the existing criteria for perfection, and reviews the process of translator’s rise in status.
