1.以今文经学为研究对象的学问。创立于西汉。汉武帝时立五经博士，传授今文经学。西汉末，古文经复出，刘歆欲以古文经学的《毛诗》﹑《古文尚书》﹑《逸礼》﹑《左氏春秋》立于学官。与今文家发生立学之争。自此今文学与古文学分立，每有论争。
