This study through reading Kundera’s works attentively, and combined with the the poetical theme of being, research the wisdom of metaphor in Kundera’s novels and explore the poetical meaning which hidden in the text.

The Development of Metaphorical Competence in EFL Learnwes;

This paper attempts to illuminate the interrelations between metaphor,thoughts and language,probes into the necessity and feasibility of fostering English learners’ metaphor awareness and metaphorical competence,and explore a tentative teaching approach that conforms to the reform of College English teaching.

Based on the resemblance and contextuality of metaphor,along with metaphoric thought,this paper mainly explores the function of metaphoric competence and its construction on SLA,which will bring about the practical sense and applicable value to SLA.
