性质:又称苦瓜毒蛋白,苦瓜定。从葫芦科植物中苦瓜(Momordica charantia)的种籽仁提取。目前已证实有三种类型,即α-苦瓜籽毒蛋白、早苦瓜籽毒蛋白和γ-苦瓜籽毒蛋白,其分子量分别是29000,28000和11500。以γ-苦瓜籽毒蛋白为例,系单链的碱性蛋白质,等电点约9.5,具有抑制红细胞裂解液的蛋白质合成活力,其作用机制是具有RNA N-糖苷酶活性,可以作用于大鼠肝核糖体28S RNA的4324位腺嘌呤的糖苷键,使其脱去腺嘌呤,丧失蛋白质合成能力。可见这三类蛋白都属于能抑制真核细胞蛋白质合成的毒蛋白,换言之,它们是核糖体失活蛋白。可在医疗上作为免疫毒素的“弹头部件”用于治疗肿瘤等症,也可作为抗动植物病毒的制剂材料之一。
