米格29a还有专门的双座教练机就是米格29ub,1981年首飞,起飞重量4.6t, 载油4077升,另外可挂一个机腹副油箱及2个翼下副油箱。后仓配有事敌模拟器,可供学员练习。虽然说是教练机也有一定的作战能力展示过一些武器外挂但是米格9ub狭小的机鼻内无法安装雷达其作战能力值得怀疑米格29ub也在多个国家服役
