From the point of the history and current development of machine translation, through the analysis of some specific examples, this paper has made a concret comparison between machine translation and human translation, attempts to point out some uncurable disadvantages of machine translation and stress the importance of unreplacable human translation.

However,problems arising from MT systems are quite different from those of human translation.
