Combining the rich fruits in contrastive linguistics with the basic principles and methods in modem dictionary compilation,this paper mainly explores the compilation of the two_way bilingual learner s dictionary with bilingual explanations,and the necessity and design of the cultural notes of this kind of dictionary.

Stresses the necessity of adding cultural notes to English Chinese dictionaries to meet the need of intercultural communications.

There are,however,some errors in classical chinese text idea annotation according to the new edition of senior middle school chinese book which is published by people\'s Education press in autumn 2003,and I will analyze the existing problems in this article.
