   认知过程中对信息的输入、编码、存储和提取。记忆是人脑对过去经验的反映,包括识记、保持、再认和再现 4 个基本过程。
   识记是记忆的开始阶段,是信息的输入和编码。保持是识记了的信息在头脑中得以巩固的过程。再现也称回忆,是对已存储的信息进行提取,使之恢复活动。有些已存储的信息不能再现,但当刺激重新出现时却仍能加以确认,这种确认的过程称为再认。再现和再认都是识记和保持的结果。信息不能很好地保持,在应用时不能及时提取的现象称为遗忘。
   对记忆的研究和心理学的历史同样悠久。直到19世纪末期德国的H.艾宾浩斯才对学习和记忆进行了实验研究,对记忆结果进行了数量化的分析。他所发现的保持曲线是对实验心理学的重大贡献。
   50年代末期开始,随着信息科学的发展与计算机技术的应用,记忆被看作是信息的保持,并认为对当前信息的加工与已有的记忆结构有关。依据遗忘速度和记忆容量,记忆可区分为短时记忆和长时记忆两个系统。以后G.斯珀林用部分报告法发现感觉记忆,以及G.A.米勒提出记忆容量的组块单位等,心理学家更多地用信息加工观点探索记忆的精细过程,提出了一些记忆模型。与此同时 ,对记忆的生理和生物化学的研究有很大进展。
