台湾省高山族首领的礼服,象征权力和财富,又名织贝衣。据中国史籍记载贝珠衣曾是沿海一带的贡品。贝珠衣由两幅专门织制的苎麻布在背部和袖下缝连。衣长1米,布幅阔24厘米。贝珠以串珠形缝缀于苎麻布上,贝珠是用贝壳琢磨成外径约3~4毫米,内孔1毫米左右,厚度为1~2毫米的小圆片,从取料、磨外圆到钻孔全用手工完成。每件服装所用的贝珠达 6万余枚,重10余市斤(见彩图)。
