BEIJING, Aug. 25 (Xinhuanet) -- At least 85 people have died and 105 reported missing in the provinces of Heilongjiang, Jilin and Liaoning.
Water levels on the lower reaches of the Nenjiang River have began to fall, with some parts already under the safety limit. But water in the Songhuajiang River continues to rise, with its Harbin section already more than a meter above the safety limit.
Yesterday, a dyke between Tongjia city and Fuyuan county on the Heilongjiang River broke, leaving a 200-meter breach. A large area of farmland has been flooded.
