fQn动!范式(nonmal funm)满足一定基本条件的关系模式(参见模式)。 根据条件的强弱程度，分别称满足这些条件的关系模式为第一范式(INF)、第二范式(ZNF)、第三范式(3NF)、理二范式(BCNF)、第四范式(4NF)等。第一范式规定数据库中用以表示实体的属性值必须为不可再分的单个数据。在第一范式中:①若非键码属性不函数依赖于任一键的真子集时称此模式是第二范式(参见数据依翰、扭码);②若非键码属性不函数依赖于任一非键码属性集时称为第三范式;③所有非平凡函数依赖都是对键码的依赖时称为I艾二范式;④所有非平凡函数和多值依赖都是对键码的依赖时称为第四范式。所以关系数据库实际上是第一范式关系数据库(参见规范化)。 第一范式的目的在于简化关系模型，避免复杂的数据结构。其它各级范式都逐级地加强条件使关系模式表达的概念单一化，由此消除更多的数据冗余，从而逐级地加强数据一致性。
