丰玉生，河南夏邑人。中共党员。1980年毕业于新疆大学中文系。1968年参加新疆兵团农七师一二七团，后历任新疆石河子市广播电台记者、编辑，《绿洲》双月刊编辑，新华社新疆分社记者，新疆兵团文联专业作家、文学创作组长及作家协会副主席，文学创作一级。新疆作家协会第五届理事，新疆生产建设兵团文联第五届委员。享受政府特殊津贴。1983年开始发表作品。1991年加入中国作家协会。
