性质:这是特指生物化学中生物合成蛋白质过程中,对由信使核糖核酸(mRNA)转译成由氨基酸所组成的肽链后的阶段性时限概念。人们称以mRNA为模板的蛋白质合成过程为翻译或转译,蛋白质合成场所在细胞内的核糖(核蛋白)体内。它的时限大致是:(1)核糖体对所附着的mRNA上终止信号(如UAA、UAG、UGA)已经识别;(2)对完工的肽酰-tRNA(转移核糖核酸)酯键进行水解;(3)新合成肽键从核糖体上脱落即释放出来。此时所得到的肽链(或蛋白质)多数还不能成为一个功能蛋白。
