| 死者之书 Book of the Dead 埃及新王国时期奴隶主、帝王死后放在陵墓和石棺里供“亡灵”阅读的书。一译亡灵书。古埃及人相信，人死后要先经历一段冥国生活，通过各种考验后才能获得再生的机会。它是用象形文字写在长卷纸草上的各种咒文、祷文和颂歌，内容大多是对神的颂歌和对魔的咒语，为奴隶主歌功颂德。它也是为死者提供进入冥国的指南，帮助死者顺利地应付审判，避免各种厄运，保护亡灵在冥国生活幸福。这些颂诗和咒语很多是录自更早的古王国时期的“金字塔文”和中王国时期的“棺文”，保存了丰富的古代埃及神话和民间歌谣，是人类遗留下来的最早的文学作品之一。现存的亡灵书是从金字塔和古代陵墓中发掘出来的，包括27篇诗，每篇长短不一。许多诗句庄严典雅，气象宏伟。它表现了古代埃及人对太阳神拉神和大神奥西里斯神的无限崇拜，神不仅能把生命和欢乐带给生者，也能带给死者；人们生前礼赞神，死后也礼赞神。亡灵书中不仅有文字，而且还附有大量彩色插图。它为了解古埃及的社会生活、意识形态、宗教礼仪及艺术源流提供了最珍贵的资料。1957年，吉林人民出版社出版了锡金译的《亡灵书》中译本。
