Several synthesis routes of five kinds of halogenated pyridine compounds including 3,5,6-trichloropyridin-2-ol, 2,3-dichloropyridine, 2-chloro-5-chlormethylpyridine, 5-chloro-2,3-difluoropyridine and 2,3-dichloro-5-trifluoro methyl pyridine were summarized in this paper.

The chemical structure and properties of pyridine and halogenated pyridine compounds were described in this paper,and especially,synthesis of some chloropyridines such as 2,3,4,5,6-pentachloropyridine,3,5,6-trichloropyridin-2-phonol and 2-chloro-5-trifluoromethylpyridine and their applications in the pesticide and pharmaceutics were introduced.
