中国宋代画家马远传世代表作。马远(12~13世纪)字遥父,号钦山,先世为河中(今山西永济)人。南宋光宗、宁宗时任画院待诏,擅画山水、人物。此图绢本,墨笔设色,共12段,纵26.8厘米,横第 1段20.7厘米,第2~12 段41.6厘米。图画水的各种状态。第 1段略有缺损,已无图名,余11段分别名"洞庭风细"、"层波叠浪"(见图)、"寒塘清浅"、"长江万顷"、"黄河逆流"、"秋水回波"、"云生沧海"、"湖光潋滟"、"云舒浪卷"、"晓日烘山"、"细浪漂漂",标题为南宋宁宗后杨氏所书。马远运用变化多端的线条将无定形的水描绘得出神入化,技巧极为高超。引首有明代李东阳篆书"马远水" 3字,本幅及隔水有各类印章68方,后幅有李东阳、吴宽、王鏊、陈玉、梁殷、俞允文、陈永年、文嘉、张凤翼、文伯仁、王世贞等人题记。《六研斋笔记》、《弇州山人稿》、《书画跋跋》、《妮古录》、《佩文斋书画谱》、《式古堂书画汇考》、《石渠宝笈·初编》、《南宋院画录》等书著录。现藏故宫博物院。
