这些选本所选大都各有偏重，体现着编者一定的目的。如《箧中集》所选诗歌多为抒发作者“无禄位”、“久贫贱”的悲苦和愤懑，风格质朴，对当时流行的诗风有针砭作用。《河岳英灵集》选录开元、天宝时诗234首（今本实数为228首），选取标准兼顾“声律”、“风骨”，较正确地反映了盛唐诗歌的基本面貌 。《国秀集》选录开元前后诗218首。编选者标榜“雅正”，内容多为奉和应制、侍宴之作；艺术上强调“风流婉丽”的形式美和“可被管弦”的音乐性。《中兴间气集》选录肃宗、代宗中兴时期诗130多首，以“体状风雅，理致清新”为标准。以上各书大都力图通过选本提倡某种风格，影响诗坛，或总结展示某一时期诗歌面貌和成就。另一类如《御览诗》，则为奉宪宗之命而编，以“醇正”为旨，反映出上层统治者对诗歌的喜好。 |
