Based on the result of experiments and the data from the corpus,this paper makes a comparative study between grammaticalization and grammar acquisition of mother tongue from the perspective of childrens’ acquisition of passive construction.

By case-studying three English majors\' performances in the pre-and post-tests,and their writings during the five-week period between the tests,we find that output made limited contribution to grammar acquisition.
