Based on the background of social and political changes in Soviet Union and Russia ,the article describes the characteristics of ideology education in Soviet Union and Russia,and analyzes the changes of politics,economy and social trend of thoughts in Russia after the disintegration of the former Soviet Union so as to find the reasons for the current predicament of idelolgy education in Russia.
