This paper aims at studying the characters of translating terms about colors between English and Chinese and its translatability in the aspects of conceptual meaning and connotative meaning,in hopes to reveal the workable approaches to achieve effective translation on terms concerning colors.

补充资料:江和义(1876~1964)
      婺剧演员,工老生。浙江省兰溪县人。15岁进金华三合班品玉科班(兼唱西吴高腔、昆腔和乱弹)学艺。中年又进衢州三合班文锦班(兼唱西安高腔、昆腔和乱弹)演戏。由于勤奋好学,不但能唱西安、西吴两种高腔,而且对高腔剧本中的各行脚色都能演唱,造诣较深,人称"总纲先生"。他的唱腔优美动听,表演质朴庄重,且擅长反串丑脚,即兴"打叉"(近似方言快板、顺口溜),临时编唱当地趣闻轶事,能出口成章,妙趣横生,在金华、衢州以及上饶、波阳一带,颇有影响。清末,高腔日趋衰落,至20世纪30年代,班社绝迹,艺人星散,后继无人,西安、西吴两种高腔,濒于失传。他虽身怀绝艺,最后也流落在兰溪农村近于行乞。中华人民共和国成立后,为挖掘继承优秀艺术传统,1950年从凉亭中把他请回,并专门招收一批学员,成立了高腔训练班。当时他已75岁,却壮心不已,将西安、西吴两种高腔的36本大戏全部回忆笔录下来,并亲授唱腔表演,使这两种绝响多年的高腔,重新恢复上演,为抢救祖国文化遗产,作出了贡献。
