中国第 1个新闻学研究团体。1918年10月14日在北京成立。原名"北京大学新闻研究会"，1919年 2月改名"北京大学新闻学研究会"。北京大学校长蔡元培被推选为会长，教授徐宝璜当选副会长，并和名记者邵飘萍一道被聘为导师。会员以北京大学文、史、哲、法等系的师生和职员为主，约数十人，其中包括毛泽东、高君宇、谭平山、罗章龙等。宗旨是:"研究新闻学理,增长新闻经验，以谋新闻事业之发展。"研究的主要内容是"新闻学之根本知识"(《新闻学研究会简章》)。每周活动3次，每次1小时。方式是听讲、讨论、参观和练习?０煊小缎挛胖芸罚迪昂痛バ挛叛兜脑暗兀侵泄钤绲男挛叛Э铩９渤霭? 3期。讲授新闻学的主要是徐宝璜和邵飘萍。李大钊、高一涵等也曾应邀到会作专题演讲。1919年10月16日举行第 1次研究期满仪式,由蔡元培向听讲半年至一年的会员颁发证书,获证书者55人。1920年12月以后，因主要负责人离校，停止活动。北京大学新闻学研究会的成立，推动了新闻学和新闻学研究活动在中国的开展。
