The agencies in Ming Dynasty were called "si-yi-guan(四夷馆)" and "hui-tong-guan(会同馆).
明清两代的中央政府均设有联络、接待外国及中国少数民族地区往来信使的专门机构,明代称作"四夷馆"和"会同馆",清代合并两馆,改称"会同四译馆"。

Si-yi-guan, set up in Ming Dynasty, was an organization of Han-lin -yuan, which taught government officials to translate documents between the central government and frontier minorities.
明代设置四夷馆，辖于翰林院，教习译字官生译写往来文书以通朝贡，因参与民族及外交事务而干系重大。
