| 敖包 Obo 萨满教神灵所居和享祭之地。为蒙古语音译，意为木、石、土堆。旧时遍布蒙古各地，多用石头或沙土堆成，也有用树枝垒成的，今数量已大减。敖包神被视为氏族保护神，祭敖包为重要祭祀仪式，于每年夏历六、七月间举行，供奉羊、酒、奶酪，点火、焚香，由萨满跳神后，参加者将祭品分食。鄂温克等族也有类似的祭敖包仪式。藏传佛教传入蒙古地区后，萨满跳神一般已改为喇嘛念经，祭敖包不再是纯粹的萨满教的祭祀活动。 |
