83式152毫米履带式自行加榴炮是中国陆军现役装备的大口径自行压制兵器。该炮曾在1984年以来的数次国庆阅兵中“抛头露面”，备受世界各国关注。其战斗全重29.5吨，最大射程17.2千米，配备杀伤爆破榴弹和发烟弹，它也可发射激光制导炮弹。乘员5人。车内装有半自动装填系统，最大射速为5发／分钟。值得一提的是，83式152毫米自行加榴炮采用的底盘是专门设计的，其特点是地面附着力大，射击稳定性好。目前，该底盘已成为中国陆军自行火炮的通用底盘。
