明人文集选编。原名《皇明经世文编》。明陈子龙、徐孚远、宋徵璧等选编。成书于崇祯十一年(1638)。五百零四卷，又有补遗四卷。编者从松江以及全国各地搜集文集千种以上，然后从四百二十余人的文集和奏议当中,"取其关于军国济于实用者,上自洪武，下迄皇帝改元，为经世一编"。该书以人物为纲，以年代先后为次。在同一人物的文集中，又以代言、奏疏、尺牍、杂文为序排列先后。其内容十分广泛，诸如时政、礼仪、宗庙、职官、国史、兵饷、马政、边情、边墙、军务、海防、火器、贡市、灾荒、农事、水利、漕运、财政、盐法、刑法、钱法、钞法、税课、役法、科举、宗室、弹劾、谏诤等均予收载。为"囊括典实，晓畅事情"，该书收录的文集中阁臣的占十分之五,督抚大臣的占十分之四,儒臣、言官的占十分之一。从而保存了许多今已不传的史料。对研究明朝历史有很高的价值。但该书篇幅浩繁,存在着选文重复，断限不严，去取不当的缺点。尤其有关三案、东林党以及农民起义的内容，大多未收。该书编成后即刻版印行，是为崇祯平露堂刊本。该书清时被列为禁书，流传极少，且多缺卷缺页。1962年，中华书局搜集整理后影印出版，吴晗为之作序，同时增加《作者姓名索引》、《分类目录》两个附录，以便于检阅。
