隽蝉，原名吴孝田。浙江杭县人。中共党员。1949年毕业于上海中国新闻专科学校。1947年后历任《和平日报》记者、《和平日报·艺风》主编、《艺兵》常务编委，第二野战军西南服务团团员，重庆军管会助理研究员，西南军政委员会秘书，西南师范学院秘书、副科长及政治、文学教师，重庆市工业学校语文教研组长、教改办公室负责人，重庆师范学院中文系教师。1946年开始发表作品。1990年加入中国作家协会。
