rt-61迫击炮于1954年开始生产。该炮射程远、精度高、威力大、重量轻,而且具有鲜明的特色-线膛迫击炮,其身管外部还有螺旋纹,不仅可以用来精确调整火炮射角,同时还能增加身管的散热面积。火炮发射榴弹时最大射程为8135米,发射火箭增程弹时达13000米,最大射速20发/分,正常射速6发/分。全炮空重582千克,炮身长2080毫米。该炮的缺点是结构较为复杂,且不能直接瞄准,但瑕不掩瑜,现已有多个国家将其改进为自行迫击炮。
