庙前古镇位于柯村西北。镇兴于唐，古称慕善镇，又名三溪镇。清代因主街在五庙之前，更名庙前。八都河、九华河流于庙前沿河土质肥沃，盛产桑麻、水稻，经济发达。古时庙前街游店多、商店多、作坊多，“华里长街，五十店铺”闻名乡里，号称青阳西乡第一镇。庙前街向为九华山香客朝山和购物散地，有“敬香上九华，购物到庙前”之说，关系极为密切。现今庙前镇高楼林立，市场繁荣，老街新城连绵数里。老街古迹保存完好，街北石坪、石拱桥保持原样，街中关帝庙改建成地藏殿，一些商店、作坊仍保留古名号。一座集商贸、旅游于一体的现代小城，在九华山北麓迅速崛起，它依托佛教名，服务佛教名山，共同繁荣，共同走向世界。
