为方蟹科动物中华绒螯蟹的甲壳。动物形态详"蟹"条。
【化学成分】
大约3/4为碳酸钙,余1/4中约有一半为甲壳质,余一半主要为蛋白质。甲壳质系由N-乙酰氨基葡萄糖所成的多糖,不溶于稀的酸、碱,如与酸共煮则水解而生乙酸与D-葡萄糖胺。甲壳质为蟹、虾等壳的特殊成分,但亦含于某些昆虫的壳、菌丝、孢子中。
【性味】
《千金·食治》:"味酸,寒,有毒。"
【功用主治】
破瘀消积。治瘀血积滞,胁痛、腹痛,乳痈,冻疮。 ①《纲目》:"烧存性,蜜调,涂冻疮及蜂虿伤;酒服,治妇人儿枕痛及血崩腹痛,消积。" ②《本草崇原》:"攻毒,散风,消积,行瘀。"
【用法与用量】
内服:煅存性研末。外用:烧灰调敷。
【选方】
①治蓄血发黄,胸胁结痛而不浮肿者:蟹壳煅存性,黑糖调,无灰酒下三钱,不过数服效。(《本经逢原》) ②治血崩甚而腹痛:毛蟹壳烧存性,米饮下。(《证治要诀》) ③治妇人乳痈硬肿:蟹壳灰一服即散。(《本经逢原》) ④治蜂虿伤:蟹壳烧存性,研末,蜜调敷。(《证治要诀》)
