| 鸡西市 位于中国黑龙江省东部 。面积6577平方千米。1994年人口90.42 万。汉族为主，有满、朝鲜等少数民族。辖鸡东县和虎林县。1941年设鸡宁县，1949年改为鸡西县，1956年设立鸡西市。因位于鸡冠山之西而名。北部和南部为低山丘陵区，中部为河谷平原。属中温带大陆性季风气候。年降水量563毫米，年均温3.5℃。有煤、磷、石墨、石灰石、铁、萤石等矿藏。鸡西煤田是中国重要的煤田之一，储量丰富，煤质优良。1926年开始采煤。原煤产量居全省之冠。鸡西矸石发电站是中国第一座以矸石为燃料的坑口发电站。土特产有人参、木耳、蘑菇、榛子。 |
