BEIJING, May 5 (Xinhuanet) -- A 38-year-old man who was critically ill with the H7N9 bird flu virus, has made a full recovery, and been discharged from hospital in Hangzhou.

It’s said to be the first time that a patient in a serious condition has recovered from the virus. 9 other patients are also reported to have recovered and been discharged from hospital.

127 cases of H7N9 have so far been detected in 10 provincial regions in the Chinese mainland. 27 people have died since the virus was first identified on March 30th.
