University students experience Lunar New Year in Egypt

Over 50 professors and students from Beni-Suef University attended an activity to experience the culture of Chinese Lunar New Year at the China Cultural Center in Cairo, Egypt, on Jan 4.
The students performed Chinese songs and poems and experienced writing Spring Festival couplets, painting New Year pictures, making dumplings and enjoying tea ceremony and Lunar New Year delicacies.

Yang Ronghao, the center director and cultural counselor of the Chinese embassy in Egypt, addressed the event and welcomed the students in his speech.
He said join the celebrations of the Lunar New Year is a way to know more about traditional Chinese culture and modern Chinese society.

"I hope more Egyptian young people engage in the cultural exchanges between the two nations."
At the event, the center donated about 200 Chinese text books to the university.
