BEIJING, Sept. 12 (Xinhuanet) -- A charter plane carrying 107 Syrian refugees has landed in Hannover of Germany as part of a special humanitarian assistance program lasting two years.
Earlier, the group departed from Beirut International Airport. A total of 5,000 refugees will be relocated to Germany. Two-hundred have already made their way there. The refugees who arrived in Hannover on Wednesday were later transferred to a local accommodation centre, where they will be offered cultural orientation courses, basic language training and information about Germany.
After a two-week period, the refugees will leave for locations across all of the German federal states. They will be accommodated in small centers or apartments and will have full access to medical care, education and other social services. The UN refugee agency is seeking a total of 10,000 placements in 2013.
