BEIJING, March. 4 (Xinhuanet) -- A suspected suicide bomber has attacked Shi’ite Muslims in Pakistan’s commercial capital Karachi on Sunday, killing at least 45 people and wounding 150.
The bomb exploded outside a Shiite mosque as people were leaving evening prayers. A senior government official said some people might still be trapped in the rubble of buildings that collapsed in the bombing.
Initial reports suggest the bomb was rigged to a motorcycle, although a survey of the damage indicates there could have been additional explosives planted at the scene. So far no one has claimed responsibility for the attack.
