BEIJING, Feb. 10 (Xinhuanet) -- An earthquake has rocked southwestern Colombia, damaging more than 100 homes and injuring six people.
According to the US Geological Survey, the powerful 6.9 magnitude quake’s epicenter was 10 kilometres south west of Pasto, near the Ecuadorean border. It was felt hundreds of kilometers south in Ecuador’s capital, Quito, where buildings shook for at least two minutes. Some residents in the Colombian capital, Bogota, were briefly evacuated. Officials say 124 homes, a health clinic and three schools have been damaged. A church was also destroyed, but no one was killed and none are missing. Five adults and a child are being treated for minor injuries.
