A welcoming ceremony has been held in the Great Hall of the People for the 100-strong delegation. After that, Premier Wen Jiabao held talks with his Thailand counterpart. Wen Jiabao highly praised the long-term friendship and cooperation between the two countries. He believes Yingluck's visit will deepen understanding between the two nations. Yingluck has long expressed a wish to visit China but flooding has delayed her trip. She added that Vice President Xi Jinping's visit to Thailand last year promoted cooperation between the two countries. After the meeting, the leaders are scheduled to witness the signing of 10 agreements by representatives of the two governments. Among the key documents to be signed are agreements to boost bilateral trade and investment. This is Yingluck's first trip to China since she took office in 2011.
