Problems and countermeasures of implementing summer fishing closure season in Guangxi Province

A scientific survey of fishery resources in Shenzhen sea area was carried out in May and August of 2007 to evaluate the dynamic change in fishery resources in Shenzhen sea area during the closed fishing season and the effective ways to restore and exploit marine fishery resources reasonably by three kinds of fishing vessels including paired trawl,surface bean trawl and shrimp trawl.

Based upon the analysis of the remaining fishery resources of the East China Sea after the intro-duction of the Fishing-prohibiting Period Policy and successful experiences in conserving and utilizing fishery re-sources both at home and abroad, this paper proposed corresponding public policies and discussed their practi-cability from various dimensions.
