临沧大雪山位于大朝山电站西岸的临沧县境内，紧靠214国道，临（沧）帮（帮东）公路直达景区腹地。景区由大雪山的雪山洞、主峰石、杜鹃林、桫椤群、黄草坝等18个景点组成，总面积160平方公里，海拔3429.6米。景观随立体气候和季节的变化而变化。山顶白雪皑皑，云海日出，赏心悦目。山腰林海茫茫，杜鹃花成林成片，四季花卉变化无穷。山间瀑布、溪流终年不断。山下电站轰鸣、平湖清波荡漾。随着澜沧江梯级电站开发，交通逐步得到改善，游人会日益增加，开发临沧大雪山风景名胜区前景广阔。
