By using the map of city boundary of Henan province,the fractal dimension,the compact ratio and the radial index of the city boundary shapes are calculated by GIS soft.

This paper analyzes the characteristics of the process of administrative demarcation,and proposes the way of realizing GIS assistance of administrative demarcation on basis of analogue spatial behavior process,analyzes the level structure of the process of administrative demarcation according to above idea,designs the visual interface and func-tion,it is realized in practice and get a good effect.

Chinese regional development is confronting the challenge of trans-districts integration and the reconstruction of its coordination mechanism,and almost all the conflicts and contradictions are interweaving and penetrating under the theme of "terrains of districts boundary—local government—trans-districts coordination",and also being focalized and magnified in terrains of districts boundary.
