碘盐的概念
碘盐是指含有碘酸钾（kio3）氯化钠（nacl）。由于中国大部分地区都缺碘，而缺碘就会引起碘缺乏病（虽然碘是微量元素），所以国家强制给食用的氯化钠食盐中加入少量的含碘盐。每年的5月15日全国碘缺乏病防治日，宣传吃碘盐能有效防止碘缺乏病。
碘盐的辨别
１、看包装。 精制碘盐用聚乙烯塑料包装，印有加碘字样，并标明生产单位、出厂日期，字迹清晰，袋质量，印制精美，封口严密整齐；假冒碘盐字迹模糊，包装粗糙。
２、看色泽。 精制碘盐外观洁白；假冒碘盐外观淡黄，或暗黑色，不干，易受潮。
３、用手捏，鼻闻，口尝。 精制碘盐手抓捏较松散，颗粒均匀，无臭味，咸味纯正；假碘盐手捏成团，易散，口尝有苦涩味，闻之有氨味。
４、是显色试验。 将碘盐洒在切开的土豆切面上，如显蓝色，是真碘盐；如蓝色浅，无蓝色，不是碘盐。
