Teaching English reading in discourse cohesion can effectively overcome the deficiency on the traditional word-centered or sentence-centered teaching method.

From the aspects of reference,substitution,ellipsis,conjunction and lexical cohesion,the essay discusses discourse cohesion in English-Chinese simultaneous interpreting through cases,and points out that discourse analysis plays an important role in English-Chinese simultaneous interpreting and emphasis should be given to cohesion in order to produce afluent interpretation.

Directed by Cohesion Theories,this paper states four typical problems in a student′s writing concerning the discourse cohesion and suggests strengthening the training on students′discourse cohesion by discourse teaching.

The implication of and the analysis to textual cohesion based on context;

A multi-dimensional teaching model of rhetoric,laying emphasis on the effects of macro-cultural aspects,micro-situational elements as well as textual cohesion,can help students have a better understanding of the rhetoric and enhance their capacity to appreciate the literary works in this book.
