This paper analyses the meaning of the limitation period of recourse in CMC first, and then tries to resolve the problem of concurrence of limitation that may happen in practice.

In international actions to recover stolen artworks,American courts have applied two different rules,that is the demand rule and discovery rule through flexible judicial interpretations of statute of limitations so as to balance the interests of original owners and bona fide purchasers of stolen artworks.
