德国17世纪人文主义者和爱国知识分子组织的学术性团体。三十年战争前后，德国的分裂状态使语言极度混乱，滥用外来语的现象相当严重，为了纯洁祖国语言，各地成立了语言学会。最初于1617年8月,安哈尔特·克腾受意大利语言学会的启发，在魏玛创立了德国第一个语言学会，称"丰收学会"。成员大多是贵族，也有市民出身的学者和诗人参加，主要任务是研究语言，同时也研究文学理论，还从事文学创作和文艺批评。"丰收学会"的主要代表格奥尔格·邵特尔在《德国主要语言详论》一文中论述了德语语法、诗学、语言实质和翻译特点，对德国统一的民族语言的形成和发展作出了贡献。他是德国语言科学的先驱者之一。此外还有斯特拉斯堡的"正义松林学会"，汉堡的"德意志同志会"，吕贝克的"易北河上天鹅教派"，纽伦堡的"佩格尼茨河畔牧人花卉教派"。各地语言学会存在的时间都不长，在德国处于四分五裂时期，人们认识到语言是民族联系的纽带，研究统一的德国语言对保持人们的民族意识有积极的作用。在研究过程中还创造了一批新词，进一步丰富了德语词汇。
