中国天然深水良港。1983年始对外开放，为上海宝山钢铁总厂进口矿石中转港。位于浙江省宁波市北仑区金塘水道南岸。水域开阔，无淤积之虞，外有金塘、大榭、黄莽诸岛屏障。航运条件良好，15万吨级大船可满载进港。陆域平原面积约 135平方公里。已建成10万吨级卸矿码头1座、 2.5万吨装矿码头和2.4万吨级油码头各2座及容量50万吨的堆矿场。码头平面布局呈斜"F"形，引桥长千余米。港区全部装卸工作由电脑自动控制，并配有工业电视、污水处理和防尘洒水等现代化装置。港口有铁路、公路通宁波。随港口工业的发展，北仑港将由大型矿石中转储运港发展成多功能的综合性港口。
