吉祥天女 印度神话人物。是印度大神毗湿奴之妻。音译勒克希米。象征幸运和财富，被称为财富女神。名称最早见于《梨俱吠陀》，在《阿闼婆吠陀》中被人格化。关于她的出生主要有两种说法：一说创造世界时，她踞于莲花上，随水漂流，故又名波德玛（意即莲花）；一说她是天神和阿修罗搅乳海时涌现的第三宝，手持莲花，坐在大莲花上，美貌绝伦，天神和阿修罗为占有她发生争执，因而有乳海之女的称号。她能变化形象伴随毗湿奴下凡：毗湿奴化身为持斧罗摩时，她是达拉尼；毗湿奴化身罗摩时，她是悉多；毗湿奴化身为黑天时，她是鲁格米尼。有人认为她是爱神的母亲。她的像多为丰满美女，面带慈祥微笑。坐骑为白色猫头鹰、金翅鸟。佛教吸收她为护法天神 ，是四大天王之一多闻天神之妹 ，有“大功德”于众，故旧称功德天。
