| 海草 sea grasses 生活在热带和温带的海岸附近的浅海中，被认为是在演化过程中再次下海的植物。常在潮下带海水中形成草场。在世界上的分布很广，已知有12属49种，其中7属产于热带，2属见于温带；3／4的种类产于印度洋和西太平洋。中国沿海已知8属，其中海菖蒲、海黾草、喜盐草、海神草、二药藻和针叶藻等6属是暖水性的，产于广东、海南和广西3省区沿海；虾形藻属和大叶藻属是温水性的，主要产于辽宁、河北、山东等省沿海，其中的日本大叶藻的产地，延伸至福建省和台湾省沿海，甚至粤东和香港沿海。海草场的腐殖质多，浮游生物甚丰，为幼小的鱼虾等海洋动物的繁生场所，也利于某些海鸟的栖息。大叶藻和虾形藻等干草，是良好的隔音材料和保温材料。 |
