| 商业银行 commercial bank 以吸收存 款为资金来 源 ，以工商企业为主 要放款对象，并以利润为其主要经营目标的信用机构。又称存款银行。在早期，这类银行以吸收活期存款作为发放贷款的主要资金来源，而这种资金只适应于经营短期的商业性放款业务，所以称之为商业银行。与其他专业金融机构相比，商业银行有两个显著特点：①业务经营的综合性。②接受活期存款，可以通过发放贷款创造派生存款，扩大信用规模。第二次世界大战以后，商业银行开始向多样化和全能化的方向发展，经营范围十分广泛。除了向工商界、消费者和政府机构办理长短期存放款业务之外，还从事租赁、信托、保险、证券、外汇、黄金、咨询及电子计算机服务等业务。商业银行在整个银行体系中，以其银行数量众多、业务渗透面广和资产总额比重大，始终居于其他金融机构之上而占首要地位。商业银行有独资经营、合资经营、集资经营、官商合营、国家经营等不同的组织形式。 |
