果实含柠檬酸、苹果酸、β-胡萝卜素、少量γ-胡萝卜素和番茄烃；果实的挥发油成分有月桂烯、柠檬烯、对-聚伞花素、异松油烯、反-2-己烯醇、α-松曲醇、牻牛儿醛、牻牛儿醇、2-甲基丁酸、乙酸、芳棒醇、环氧二氢芳樟醇的顺反异构体、γ-辛酸内酯、γ-癸酸内酯、橙花醛、柠檬醛。未熟果实含绿原酸类、焦性儿茶酚类、赭朴鞣质、黄酮类等成分。

酸甘，温。 ①《千金·食治》："味极酸。" ②崔禹锡《食经》："味酸，大热。" ③《日华子本草》："热，有毒。" ④《本草图经》："杏之类梅者味酢，类桃者味甘。"
【功用主治】
润肺定喘，生津止渴。 ①《千金·食治》："其中核犹未鞕者，采之暴干食之，甚止渴，去冷热毒。" ②《滇南本草》："治心中冷热，止渴定喘，解瘟疫。" ③《随息居饮食谱》："润肺生津。"
【宜忌】
①崔禹锡《食经》："不可多食，生痈疖，伤筋骨。" ②《本草衍义》："小儿尤不可食，多致疮痈及上膈热。"
