茶壶(t eapot)中国主要茶具之一唐代以后饮茶已用壶，称为茶壶，又称茶注，也称注子或偏提。以湖南长沙窑烧制的袖下彩绘最孚盛名，一般以短形小流(即壶嘴)代替了过去的鸡头饰流。但唐代的注子不是饮茶的专用器具，并且更常用于饮酒。宋元时期，壶的形制有不少改进，如壶式由饱满变得瘦长，壶体的纹饰由莲瓣形趋向瓜棱纹，壶的流子多从肩部下移至腹部等。明代中期茶壶才较普遍地成为饮茶专用器皿，为当时各阶层人们所乐用，用瓷壶或紫砂壶饮茶蔚然成风。紫砂壶又有良好的保味功能、吸附茶汁增积茶锈、传热缓慢不炙手、冷热急变不易胀裂、可置于炉火炖煮等优点。江苏省宜兴县有丰富的陶上，上质细洁，因此宜兴的紫砂茶具很快得到发展，尤以紫砂壶大为流行‘〕宜兴紫砂壶.小巧玲珑.古朴风雅，不仅造型具有中国传统的艺术风格，而且对保持茶汤的香味有其独到之处。茶壶的形制大小，从品尝茶叶韵味而言，宜小不宜大。中国闽粤一带在清代也已盛行一种特制的小型茶壶、茶杯泡饮工夫茶。 (何堆曾)
